About Wild Wonders
A Farm. A School. A Different Way to Learn.
Wild Wonders is a hybrid homeschooling program where children learn on a working farm in Belgrade, Montana. We pair hands-on farm work with project-based academics and daily outdoor time to give kids an education they can feel, not just read about.
Our Mission:
To cultivate curious, confident learners through nature-immersed education where children discover their potential, develop independence, and build meaningful connections to the world around them.
Our Vision:
We envision a generation of thoughtful, capable young people who think critically, explore boldly, and grow into compassionate leaders equipped to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Core Values
-

Experiential Learning
Kids learn best when they're doing something real, not filling in a worksheet about it.
-

Nature & Outdoor Education
The farm and the land around it aren't extras. They're where some of our most important teaching happens.
-

Resilience & Independence
When a kid has to solve a problem that actually matters, they build confidence no pep talk can replace.
-

Individualized Growth
Every child learns differently and moves at their own pace. We pay attention to that.
-

Community & Connection
Small classes, close families, and teachers who know every student by name. That's the environment where kids do their best work.
How We Teach
Wild Wonders follows a blended learning model that pairs structured academics with the flexibility homeschool families need. Here's what that looks like in practice.
✓ Project-Based Learning – Students learn across subjects through hands-on projects built around a central theme. Each project is designed to meet Montana academic standards while giving kids a reason to care about the material.
✓ Outdoor and Farm-Based Education – Time outside isn't recess. It's where students observe seasonal changes, care for animals, tend gardens, and connect what they're learning in the classroom to the world right in front of them.
✓ Individualized Learning Plans – We work with each family to set goals that fit their child. Teachers track progress and adjust instruction so every student is challenged at the right level.
✓ Montana Standards Alignment – Our program is designed to meet Montana's required instructional hours. Families build on that foundation at home with curriculum and guidance from our teachers.
A Day on the Farm
Wild Wonders doesn't look like a typical school, and that's the point. Here's what families can expect.
Small Learning Groups – Classes are kept small so teachers can give every student the attention they need. Kids aren't lost in the crowd here.
Learning Happens Outside – Forests, gardens, pastures, and farm buildings are all part of the classroom. Students spend real time outdoors every single day.
Farm Work is Part of School – Students feed animals, maintain gardens, and take on seasonal farm tasks. This isn't a petting zoo visit. It's daily responsibility that teaches kids to show up and follow through.
Built for Homeschool Families – Our schedule is designed to fit alongside home-based learning. Families and teachers work together to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
What We Teach and What We Leave to Families
Wild Wonders focuses on farm-based learning, academic fundamentals, and age-appropriate character development. That's our lane, and we stay in it.
Conversations about complex social topics, including but not limited to sexuality, gender identity, and politics, are not part of our curriculum. If these subjects come up, our educators will kindly redirect students to discuss them at home with their parents or guardians.
We believe parents are the primary educators when it comes to values, beliefs, and sensitive topics. Every family handles these conversations differently, and we respect that. Our job is to partner with you on your child's academic and personal growth, not to step into territory that belongs to your family.
This is school the way it should feel.
Kids who are excited about what they're learning. Teachers who actually know your child. A place where getting dirty and working hard are part of the curriculum. If that sounds like what you've been looking for, let's talk.
